Bound for Glory Camp is a FREE Christian literacy and adventure camp for qualifying Transylvania County youth ages 9-12. Our focus is to improve the literacy skills of struggling readers and provide opportunities for them to discover new talents in a Christian environment.
Bound for Glory Camp is located in beautiful Brevard, NC. Our four-week camp sessions meet Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:30. Each Friday of the session, campers have the option to stay for an overnight and adventure excursion that lasts until the following Saturday afternoon. We aim to educate, enrich, and encourage each camper that we have the opportunity to serve.
Educate
Intense literacy instruction helps students strengthen already learned skills, develop new skills, and avoid the "summer slide." Each weekday of camp, campers receive the following literacy instruction:
- 1:1 Individualized Literacy Instruction
- 1:1 Oral Reading with an Adult Partner
- Small-Group Written Expression and Vocabulary Development
Enrich
Our enrichment program is designed not only for fun but to allow campers to learn new skills, build self-awareness, and strengthen confidence. The classes are specifically chosen to align with the natural talents of most individuals with dyslexia.
Encourage
Through community and Christ, campers discover God has purpose and hope for their lives. We work hard to ensure that our campers learn new perspectives about their difficulties and have ample opportunity to discover and strengthen their talents. Bound for Glory Camp is founded on Christian principles and the belief that Christ is the most tremendous encouragement one can share.
